(Park County, Wyo.) – For the first time since 1979 – yes, that’s 36 years! – our state has crowned a Miss Rodeo Wyoming from Park County. Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2016 Nicki Seckman is ready to go out into the world with her newly earned title and represent the spirit of Wyoming.
“I think rodeo is what we were founded on – it’s our roots,” said Nicki, who was Miss Cody Stampede prior to becoming Miss Rodeo Wyoming. “It’s the Western tradition. It’s about honesty and integrity and respect for other people and for each other. That all in itself is what sets Wyoming a part. I want to represent that in all areas of my life and really be a role model in that way. That’s basically the reason I did this.”
Seckman, now 21-years-old, grew up on land between Powell and Cody and graduated from Powell High School. Always a horse woman, she didn’t become serious about rodeo until she turned 18. However, she harbored dreams of being a rodeo queen since she was a little girl.
