100 Years of Rodeo – 100 Years of The Cody Stampede!

Join RHR to Celebrate 100 Years of Rodeo – 1919-2019, the week of July 4th!

Nicknamed: America’s 1st rodeo or Rodeo Capital of the World, This area of Park County Wyoming is rich in history, cowboy ways and located near Yellowstone National Park with so many outdoor adventure activities!

Come Celebrate with us over the 4th of July!

Buffalo Bill held one of the 1st modern rodeos – the July 4th celebration led to the creation of his Wild West. Carolyn Lockhart, inducted into the Cowgirl Hall of Fame, was the first president of the Stampede Board. She said, “We opened our hearts for the bucking contest since a Wild West show without bucking would be about as satisfying as a pie without the filling”! Now, 100 years strong – the 1919 show was such a big hit that Williams and others decided Cody should do this all the time! –  Let’er Buck!  notes from – Cody Enterprise Special Publication June 18th, 2019 by Lew Freedman
