Here is our icon horse “Cash” and his horse sense and staying cool. How do horses stay cool?
Horses normally cool themselves by sweating. The sweat evaporates from the skin surface and causes a cooling effect. Less sweat evaporates during times of high humidity. A horse that is working hard in a hot environment can lose 2 to 4 gallons of sweat per hour.
Horses will find and remember any water source in their landscape or corral. See our horse Cash here who know exactly where the small creek is for drinking, standing in and even laying down in. Now that’s just plain Horse Sense.
We can tell you a lot about horses and properties that are horse-ready.
